We are happy to announce that the PLUS tutoring program returned to LIFE Male STEAM Academy in Pittsburgh this week! On Wednesday, October 18th, a dozen tutors from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) provided personalized math instruction to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade scholars at LIFE Male STEAM Academy.
In the Spring of 2023, we launched our program for the first time at LIFE Male STEAM Academy, where we engaged young scholars in personalized tutoring. With our technology, we work towards our mission of bridging opportunity gaps in math education in the Pittsburgh region by combining human plus AI tutoring. For the 2023-2024 school year, we are excited to expand our tutoring program to all scholars every Wednesday for the remainder of the school year.
We would especially like to thank Head of School Mr. Kevin Bivins, Dean of Students Mr. Malcolm Thomas, Mrs. LaShawn Digbohou, Mr. William Roberson, and Mr. Skinner for their leadership and engagement in this program. We also want to thank Dr. Darryl T. Canady, Reverend Taleeta Canady, Dr. Carmen Thomas-Browne and Dr. Erin Gratz for their guidance and support as we geared up for the expansion of the tutoring program this Fall.
